Teri Mancuso
Executive Assistant
Teri Mancuso joined principal gifts as executive assistant on June 24 and reports to Kelly McCann. In this role, Mancuso's responsibilities will include providing high level support to the AVP for Principal Gifts, Rob Jackson. Mancuso's office is located in the PG Ops Hub on the third floor of the Holtzman Alumni Center.
Afton Mulkey
Social Media Coordinator
Afton Mulkey joined the communications and marketing team as social media coordinator on June 27 and reports to Kate Adkins. In this role, Afton's responsibilities will include managing the Virginia Tech News social media channels and supporting the university’s main social media accounts. Afton’s office is located on the fourth floor of University Gateway Center.
Peyton Tompkins
Communications Coordinator
Peyton Tompkins joined the communications and marketing team as communications coordinator effective June 10 and reports to Margaret Ashburn. In this role, Tompkins' responsibilities will be to monitor earned media coverage and report metrics to show impact and develop best practices. Additionally, she will work with the Virginia Tech News team on campus notices. Tompkins' office is located on the fourth floor of University Gateway Center.

Kailey Absher
Senior Special Events Coordinator
Kailey Absher has accepted the position of senior special events coordinator effective June 25 and reports to Ciji Good. In this role, Absher will assist with the leadership of the Office of Special Events including strategic planning, working with advancement and campus partners, and overseeing select events. Absher’s office is located on the second floor of University Gateway Center.
Kate Adkins
Associate Director, Social Media
Kate Adkins has accepted the position of associate director, social media effective June 10 and reports to John Jackson. In this role, Adkins’ responsibilities will include guiding the university’s social media strategy and supervising the team that builds and supports Virginia Tech’s online reputation to advance the university’s strategic goals, priorities, and messages. Adkins’ office is located on the fourth floor of University Gateway Center.
Bailey Angle
Assistant Director, Athletics Annual Giving
Bailey Angle has accepted the position of assistant director, athletics annual giving effective June 25 and reports to Evan Massengill. In this role, Angle’s responsibilities will include leading a team focused on annual fundraising strategy at all levels of the donor lifecycle with an emphasis on donor acquisition and retention for sport-specific giving, as well as the Hokie Scholarship Fund. Angle will work hand in hand with the donor experience, membership services, and events teams to help provide memorable experiences for our annual fund donors. Angle’s office is located in the Hokie Club within Lane Stadium.
Margaret Ashburn
Associate Director of Media Relations
Margaret Ashburn has accepted the position of associate director of media relations effective June 10 and reports to Michael Stowe. In this role, Ashburn’s responsibilities will include implementing the university's central media relations strategy, with a focus on elevating Virginia Tech’s leadership, faculty expertise, research discoveries, and student achievements. Ashburn will collaborate with colleagues across the university to find and facilitate national media and high impact regional and local media opportunities. Ashburn’s office is located in the marketing and communications office on the fourth floor of University Gateway Center.
Noah Nichols
Associate Director of Major Gifts
Noah Nichols has accepted the position of associate director of major gifts effective June 25 and reports to Tristan Mulcahy. In this role, Nichols will be involved with the planning and implementation of the fundraising efforts in support of priorities designated by the department of athletics. Nichols' office is located in the Hokie Club office at Lane Stadium.
Krista Timney
Director of Communications, AAD
Krista Timney has accepted the position of director of communications and marketing for the College of Architecture, Arts, and Design effective June 25 and reports to Zeke Barlow and Julia Allen. In this role, Timney will lead the development, planning, execution, and evaluation of a comprehensive, strategic communications and marketing program for the college and align those activities with university-wide communications, marketing, and branding initiatives. Timney’s office is located in Burruss Hall, Suite 123c.
