Senior Vice President for Advancement

The Advancement Division is lead by Tom Wamsley, senior vice president for Advancement. In this role, Wamsley is tasked with  securing resources that will enhance the academic quality of the institution; promoting public understanding of and support for Virginia Tech; enhancing the perception and knowledge of various publics of the university's programs and accomplishments; and creating a positive public impression of the university and its faculty, students, and programs.

Wamsley succeeded Charlie Phlegar in August 2025.
