Brandy Salmon

Vice President for Innovation and Partnerships
Brandy Salmon is the vice president for innovation and partnerships. In her current position, she serves as executive director for LINK, supporting a wide range of industry engagements, while guiding the university’s newest enterprise, LAUNCH, The Center for New Ventures.
Salmon was a key figure in the development of Virginia Tech’s Innovation Campus and served as the managing director, leading a cross-functional delivery team to set the vision for the campus and launch key efforts.
Prior to standing up LINK at Virginia Tech, Salmon was a director with RTI’s Innovation Advisors, where she led strategic consulting engagements for federal and corporate clients and served as program manager for a global technology testing and commercialization accelerator on behalf of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Salmon earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Virginia, a Ph.D. in microbiology and immunology from Cornell University, and an M.B.A. from the Duke University Fuqua School of Business.
